The Knowledge Civilization is now developing on Earth. It will be a long time before the pressure of population and the technology to create a new Knowledge Civilization, perhaps on Mars, or floating free in space are ready to divide the world and the knowledge base and create a new Knowledge Civilization capable of sustaining itself in space. Until infancy and the juvenile period of the First Flower are over, the Knowledge Civilization will not be having any children. After that the era of the Flowers of the Universe will begin.
